What peptides are, and what they aren’t

Peptides are short chains of amino acids, the same building blocks that make up proteins. Your body makes many peptides naturally, and some well-established medicines, such as insulin, are peptides. A compounded peptide is prepared by a pharmacy for one patient based on a provider’s prescription. Not every peptide has been studied to the same degree, which is why a provider weighs the available evidence, your history and your goals before recommending anything. A peptide is not a supplement you should start on your own.
